Stocks and Flows
Stocks and Flows
An approach to modelling complex systems where a system's behaviour is replicated by the interaction of stocks and flows of some arbitrary concept.
Stocks
A stock is measured at a given moment in time, e.g. in accounting the values of assets and liabilties are recorded at a point in time on a balance sheet.
Flows
A flow is measured in units/time, e.g. in accounting the cash movement in a month.
